Prisma Foundation is building its first THERAPEUTICAL EDUCATIONAL CENTER (CET).

The general proposal consists in an integrated approach which responds to personal goals, which are worked on in an interdisciplinary way, in a group context, through workshop activities.

The CET is for young adults with Cerebral Palsy and Neuromotor Disorders

The construction site is located in the Constitución neighbourhood in the City of Buenos Aires, and has a roofed area of 420 m² (4,521 sq ft) and an unroofed area of 140 m² (1,507 sq ft).

The CET is gauged for 60 young adults, under the single-shift day and double-shift day systems. The plan is to develop the therapeutical educational activities in small groups, according to developmental affinities.

The Prisma CET is being renovated according to regulations required by the National Registry of Providers of the Disability National Agency (ANDIS) in order to be able to operate as a Therapeutical Educational Center, category A, with the capacity for 30 young adults for each shift (morning and afternoon).

The renovation work on the existing building, passed by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, started in November 2019.

HELP US BUILD A MORE INCLUSIVE WORLD.

WHICH WILL BE THE WORKING STYLE?

We propose an integrated approach with a holistic perspective that accompanies their growing up, putting the emphasis on the interests and needs of the young adults and their families, promoting social inclusion.

Our goal is to achieve the highest possible autonomy and participation coming from Assistive Technology (Augmentative and Alternative Communication AAC), in an environment of trust and motivation, building bonds of belonging.

It will be complemented with a plan for individual treatments, designed according to the specific needs of each attendant with an interdisciplinary approach.

HOW DO WE THINK OVER THE EQUIPMENT?

The selection of the proper equipment is a subtle and essential task to achieve the set out goals of autonomy, participation and communication.

The Prisma CET will have an equipment based on the concepts of Universl Design, Assistive Technology and Multisensory Stimulation Room.

Some of the equipment we will use includes automatic elevators, computer adaptations, etc.
